Ladies and gentlemen, Eater is thrilled to present the much-anticipated Eater Young Guns Class of 2014, a group of 16 of the most distinguished young chefs, restaurateurs, sommeliers, and hospitality industry professionals in the country. These are the junior statesmen of the culinary world who have most distinguished themselves this year and who are its next stars.
And we're extra-pleased to announce that Minneapolis's own Birk Stefan Grudem and Christina Nguyen of food-truck-turned-brick-and-mortar Hola Arepa are among the Eater Young Guns Class of 2014. In their semifinalist interview with Eater National, Grudem and Nguyen talked about their inspiration, their transition from food truck to brick and mortar, and their plans for opening more restaurants within the next five years.
For the full list of Eater's 16 newest Young Guns, which include seven women and nine men and spans everyone from chefs to food-truck operators, butchers to baristas, head on over to Eater National. Grudem, Nguyen, and the rest of the Young Guns will be feted at an event in Los Angeles this evening.
