Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining and drinking events going on around the Twin Cities:
1) Travail Prevailed Party
When: Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m.
Where: Lakeview Terrace Park
What: There's a big old party in Robbinsdale on Sunday. The crew at Travail is thanking their Kickstarter backers with a giant party in the park with food (mussels, elote, kimchi!), beer (Surly, Fulton, Summit!), and live music. 2) Pride Dabbler
When: Friday, 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Where: Loring Park
What: The Beer Dabbler at Twin Cities Pride is back for a third year. The beer sampling festival pairs twenty-seven local breweries with twenty-seven local food trucks (including Bauhaus with Hot Indian Foods and Sociable Cider with Natedogs) in Loring Park to kick off the weekend celebration. 3) Minnesota Food Truck Fair
When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Lake St. & Hennepin Ave.
What: Can't get enough food trucks? Check out the Minnesota Food Truck Fair in Uptown on Sunday. The festival brings more than forty food trucks (including World Street Kitchen, Andrew Zimmern Canteen, and Vellee Deli) to one location. Each truck will have a $5 menu item and fair goers are encouraged to share for maximum food tasting. Beer from Lucid will be on site, too. 4) Harriet Beer Dinner at Icehouse
When: Thursday, 5 to 10 p.m.
Where: Icehouse
What: Harriet Brewing and Icehouse are teaming up for a tap takeover and beer dinner. Chef Bickford has created a menu with pairings including soft shell crab with Luv Jus and jerk pork short rib with Sol Bock. They also have bar snacks paired with brews. 5) Sweet Science Ice Cream Tasting
When: Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m.
Where: Verdant Tea
What: Sweet Science Ice Cream is having a free ice cream sampling at the Verdant Tea tasting room. There will be 15+ flavors on hand to try like salted caramel, berry crumble, pear riesling sorbet, and brand new summer flavor, lemongrass ginger bark. Also of Note: Hop the greenline and hit up Food Truck Friday at Union Depot (Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.). There's a taco tour happening on Saturday on Lake Street. It is officially sold out but you can still partake in eating tacos. Korean restaurant and sushi joint, Dong Hae opens on Friday (11 a.m.).
