Saint Dinette Looking for a New Location; Still Coming to Lowertown Mid-Soon

Highly anticipated upcoming Lowertown restaurant Saint Dinette, from the team behind The Strip Club Meat & Fish, will no longer be coming to its planned location, the Lofts at Farmers Market. Niver announced the change of plans this morning in a tweet: "Friends! @SaintDinette won't be located in the St Paul City Lofts building. We just couldnt make the space fit our plans. Better news soon."

Eater Minneapolis spoke with Niver, who said that essentially he and Saint Dinette's other owners—JD Fratzke and Brad Tetzloff—realized they couldn't do everything they wanted in the small space. The main issue was that the 1,800 square foot space was not conducive for their equipment.

The trio is currently looking at a place right across the street from former spot in the Rayette building. The potential location has a little more square footage, 20-foot ceilings, pillars, and floor-to-ceiling windows, but the space needs renovation "soup to nuts," says Niver. The deal is in its infancy, but they are currently working on getting things solidified.

The three owners—Niver, JD Fratzke, and Brad Tetzloff—began the process of opening the Strip Club's sister restaurant last summer. If the deal goes through at the Rayette building, they are still very much hopeful that Saint Dinette will open later this year, or mid-soon, the term that has been passed from Heyday to Saint Dinette.
