Sandcastle Opens Lake Terrace, Now Serves Beer, Wine

Lake Nokomis's Sandcastle has launched its terrace and now serves beer and wine. Look for local brews, wine on tap, and food specials from executive chef Doug Flicker like Sloppy Wednesdays, during which Kobe beef sloppy joes and "castle-ritos," or cheesy, Dorito-flavored fries, are served for $9. There's also Fried Chicken Friday, when three bone-in pieces of chicken breast are served for $9 with a bacon grease and scallion drop biscuit and smoked maple butter.

The terrace overlooks the lake. It will be fully completed in August but diners can have lakeside meals starting right now.
