The temperatures may be dropping, but the dining news is heating up with two restaurants on the horizon. Le Town Talk Diner & Drinkery has announced its opening date and Salt Cellar shared the name of its chef. Le Town Talk will operate inside the storied space with the fantastic, historic facade on East Lake Street. The owners are first time restaurateurs Emilie Cellai and Ben Johnson.
Meanwhile, Salt Cellar, owned by the same people who own Eagle Street Grille near the Xcel Energy Center, has tapped a chef committed to local cooking.
Chef Alan Bergo, Lenny Russo's long time sous chef at Lowertown's locavore restaurant Heartland, will run the kitchen at Cathedral Hill's forthcoming Salt Cellar. Bergo also spent a brief period cooking for the Princess of Monaco. His passion for foraging is chronicled on his website ForagerChef.com. Russo is also consulting on the restaurant which will be a retro steakhouse styled eatery. Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl of Minneapolis St. Paul Magazine reports the projected opening will take place in November.
Le Town Talk Diner & Drinkery will serve French-inspired comfort food and champagne-centric cocktails. It will open to the public on Tuesday September 16.
