Fair State Brewing Cooperative: Where You Can Drink Like You Own the Place

The brewery boom continues with the new Fair State Brewing in Northeast. The story begins in familiar fashion: three friends from college, Matthew Hauck, D. Evan Sallee and Niko Tonks, who fostered a love of brewing beer, dreamed of opening a brewery and taproom in Minneapolis. However theirs was a dream that would only get better with the more people that they shared it with. Thus began the long road to opening Fair State Brewing, the first cooperative brewery in Minnesota. The taproom will be open tomorrow, where you can sip some of their brews and find out more about becoming a part of the collective.

The varieties of beer they are brewing at Fair State include Hoplager, a hop-forward lager;IPA; Schwarbier, a black German lager; Session Stout as well as special seasonals.

Members of the brewery have voting rights, priority access to new brews, recipe input, potential refunds depending on annual profits, referral benefits for bringing in new members and a free pint of beer on your membership anniversary.

The taproom is still in the soft, early opening stage and hours are subject to change. It will be open from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm tomorrow, Wednesday September 10. Thursday hours will be 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Friday hours are 4 pm to midnight. They are closed Sunday through Tuesday.
