Steven Brown, the maestro/chef/owner of the critical and neighborhood darling, Tilia has announced his next project. St. Genevieve will be a "buvette." Brown explained to Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl that the new restaurant will be an American tavern with French accents.
Brown is holding all menu details close to the vest and won't say much beyond French-style tartine sandwiches and a selection of French beers.
Brown is working with the same designer, Heather Keena who designed Tilia. One of the more awkward parts about dining inside The Lynn was the split vibes of the front and back of the restaurants, which were divided by a small semi-open kitchen. That kitchen will be removed, uniting the two spaces. The restaurant will strive for the same casual, neighborhood ambiance that Tilia radiates so well.
Once the restaurant opens, it will serve brunch, lunch and dinner. Expect to find seating inside this new Lynnhurst establishment before the dog days of summer descend.
