The Oldest Bar in Minneapolis Has Called Its Last Call: Pracna on Main Is Closed

There aren't many cobblestones left in Minneapolis. There are even fewer bars who can date back to the 1890's. Pracna on Main was the oldest bar on the oldest street in the city. Located next to the St. Anthony Main theater, the aged restaurant was known for their well-selected beer list and a stone wall lined dining room steeped in history.

Tuesday the restaurant closed their doors and took down their website as well as social media accounts. On Monday the restaurant had offered a free cider to guests at their bar from 5 p.m. to midnight. Perhaps it was a farewell toast.

Owners could not be immediately reached for comment.
