This has been the week to celebrate all things early-eating. In addition to Eastside kicking off brunch service, so has Hennepin Avenue's cocktail hotspot, Bradstreet Neighborhood Craftshouse.
—For those looking for a weekday early mean fun, Black Walnut Bakery, Sarah Botcher's beloved pop up will now be providing pastries for all Spyhouse Coffee locations. Kouign Amaan to your heart's content.
—And if that wasn't enough brunch news, Pork & Pickle, the work of Travail vet Hausmann is selling tickets for two upcoming events. Sunday November 29 and December 6 will have to seatings, 10:30 a.m. for early birds and 12:30 for, in Hausmann's words, "normal people." For $40 diners will receive five courses and a take home treat.
—World Cafe is now open in the downtown Minneapolis skyway where Cafe Zentral once was. They're serving breakfast, lunch and something called a "pure life bowl." That sounds intriguing.
—Amore Victoria will change ownership. The 10 year old Uptown Italian eatery is being sold to investors as Alex and Jenna Victoria take a step back to allow for a little more time to spend with their family. The duo will continue to run Nico's Taco & Tequila Bar on Hennepin. The new owners have no plans for any changes to Amore. The rooftop patio and tortellacci alla panna will go untouched. The changeover will be official near the end of the year.
—Chips and salsa are at the ready in the North Loop. Rojo Mexican Grill has opened inside the short-lived Shag Sushi location. Stephanie March of Mpls./St. Paul Magazine went and ate a quesadilla, reports it was both quesa and dilla-y.
—And finally, Blaze Pizza is now open at the University of Minnesota. A press release touts that LeBron James is one of the backers behind this "fast-casual" pizza chain. To celebrate the opening, the company is offering free pizza today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 1000 Washington Ave. SE for anyone who follows them on social media.
