Now, we know that the Paul Dzubnar run restaurant has a super star team helming the front and back of the house inside Scena Tavern, the new Italian-influenced eatery in Uptown. Jamie Malone and Erik Anderson (both of the forthcoming Brut, Food & Wine Best New Chefs and formerly of Sea Change and Catbird Seat respectively) are leading the kitchen. Bill Summerville (formerly of La Belle Vie and late of Spoon & Stable) is handling the front of house training and Bittercube Bitters, led by Nick Kosevich have created the bar program. (Which involves a whole lot of gin.)
Now, today, it's time to talk about that room. The centerpiece of the room is a curved bar, that's beautifully viewed from the second floor mezzanine. On the first floor there is an open kitchen, which affords a view of the wood burning oven (used for the piadinis - loosely formed pizzas) and a cozy fire beneath a large light installation (that is some how a clock.)
