The Sheridan Room opened quietly this past weekend in the remodeled space that once occupied the Modern Café. Owners Jon and Jarret Oulman, along with business partner Josh Mandelman, chose a casual opening with little fan fare. They welcomed guests December 4 with a simple Facebook invitation, a few enticing photos of the gorgeous new space and a beer can chicken utilizing Bauhaus’ Wonderstuff New Bohemian Pilsner. The Sheridan Room will begin its regular hours this today, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. It will be closed Mondays.

Chicken is the name of the game at the Sheridan Room, but the menu includes additional offerings like steak, pork and fish, along with promising sandwich choices like Iron Range porketta and a grilled cheese with sweet potato, green apples and bitter greens. The Modern Café’s Executive chef Ella Wesenberg is at the helm once again, along with sous chef is Steve Lo and pastry chef is Kim Kutschke.
