The newest Mexican eatery is opening in Uptown tonight. Tinto Cocina + Cantina replaces Spill the Wine on Lake Street and Bryant Avenue in Minneapolis. The restaurant is the work of Rebecca Illingworth, who last ran the now-defunct Bin Wine Bar in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood. The menu is overseen by chef Carlos Garza who has relocated to Minneapolis from Chicago's Carnivale restaurant.
They open at 5 p.m. today. Regular service hours will include lunch, happy hour which runs from 3 to 6 p.m. and a weekend brunch.
