After closing its doors in mid-March, Northeast diner Modern Cafe has new owners, reports the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The property was sold to Oulmandelman, LCC (the group behind 331 Club and St. Paul's Amsterdam Bar) late last month. Although 331 Club co-owner Jarret Oulman confirmed the deal about the purchase to MSPBJ, no further information was provided.
It was announced that the art deco diner, known for its iconic pot roast and quirky decor, was sold by Jim and Judy Grell to mystery buyers early this past March. The restaurant's last day of service under the Grells was March 14th.
