1) Tattersall Distilling: While they weren't able to serve anything besides art, Dan Oskey's NE Minneapolis distillery held an open house during Art-A-Whirl this past weekend. With an anticipated June grand opening, the 90-seat cocktail room will offer unique cocktail creations from Oskey plus an added bonus of Strip Club Meat & Fish barman, Timmy Leary, mixing things up.
2) Lawless Distilling: According to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, Lawless Distilling has set up shop in South Minneapolis. The facility has been in production for four weeks in the Seward neighborhood and has plans to launch its vodka in June and a London-style dry gin later this summer. They will focus on packaging their spirits first with an eventual tasting room in the future.
3) Twin Spirits Distillery: Last week, MSP Mag's Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl reported that we will see our first woman-owned distillery later this fall. Michelle Winchester's Twin Spirits Distillery, located in NE Minneapolis, will produce a variety of gins (including a mushroom gin and a rye-based gin) and eventually a whiskey made with rye malted on-site.
