1) Uptown: We've got Erik and Jamie news but it's not Brut. Looks like Uptown is getting another new hot spot in Scena Tavern, a 220-seat indoor/outdoor restaurant. According to MSP Mag's Dear Dara, Chef Erik Anderson will be behind the menu but Chef Jamie Malone will be kicking it off as Anderson is currently doing a stint at Intro, a concept restaurant in Chicago. A September opening is predicted.
2) Powderhorn: Blink and you missed the quiet opening of Chef Hector Ruiz's new spot La Ceiba Bistro. The Powderhorn restaurant is Ruiz's fourth installment in the Twin Cities. It serves up tributes to El Meson, Caribbean/Mediterranean/Latin fare, plus breakfast.
3) Lowertown: A new bar and restaurant is landing in the up-and-coming downtown St. Paul neighborhood. City Pages reports that Dark Horse, a bar and restaurant from the owners of Muddy Waters, will likely open later this summer. Just a block from the new Saints stadium, Dark Horse will focus on craft beer, drip coffee, and European comfort foods. An early August opening is expected.
