KRÄFTSKIVA! 2015

Kräftskiva is a traditional end of summer crayfish party originating in Sweden. Everyone is a Swede in spirit at the Bachelor Farmer’s 4th Annual Kräftskiva! 2015. The tantalizing menu includes mountains of dilled crayfish, TFB’s famous meatballs, grilled sweet corn, warm flat bread, adult snow cones, and…wait for it…aquavit.

100% of the proceeds from the event will go to support the Mississippi River Fund. The Bachelor Farmer's reps tell us that the event is close to selling out. To reserve your spot at the mudbug party, tickets are available in advance here.

Off to the races

Canterbury Park will play host to a beer fest on Saturday, where revelers can enjoy samples from nearly 200 craft brewers, along with music from Tim Mahoney and grub from a few Food Trucks. VIP tix get you free pizza from Tru Pizza.

PopUp Fancy Schmancy Dinner

Imagine a field of white, where candles flicker in the evening breeze and casual banter and delicious food abound. Handmade Events presents The PopUp Dinner, a flash mob style picnic held at a secret location revealed just hours before the event. Guests are asked to wear white attire, bring their own picnic dinner and maybe a candelabra or five.

Get cultured

Fermentation on Wheels, an Oregon-based grassroots organization that strives to raise awareness of food sustainability and fermentation, will park its bus in front of GYST Fermentation Bar on Saturday. Take a tour of this converted school bus, which now functions as a fermentation lab and workshop space, or participate in a workshop called "Get Cultured! A Workshop on Starter Cultures in Fermentation" and learn everything you didn’t know you needed to know about traditionally-preserved foods.

Brews on the Block

Ten local breweries will form five teams and create new collaboration brews that will debut at Sunday’s Red Stage Block Party.
