The one-time chef and co-owner of Pane Vino Dolce and Cafe Vin is embarking on a new project near the corner of 50th and Bryant. Mecca Bos of City Pages reports on the nostalgia surrounding his former eateries and the new venture.
Funding is still being secured, but the restaurant will be housed in the former La Mac Cleaners space and Smart Associates will be handling the design.
The concept is to create a bacaro a Venetian cafe serving humble, approachable, fresh food with a seafood focus. That means, yes it's true, more crudo for the crudo-count in the Twin Cities. No new restaurant would be complete without the raw menu list of the moment.
If the project remains on track, expect a late 2015 or early 2016 opening.
