From a farmers market stand to national attention, the most anticipated meat-free venture of the year is getting closer to being a reality. The Herbivorous Butcher, the deliciously creative, cruelty-free answer to carnivorous cravings will open the nation's first vegan butcher shop in Northeast Minneapolis next weekend.
To celebrate the opening an event is planned, including special surprise appearances and a full line up of meat-free meats. A wide selection of sausages, roasts and cheese-free cheese will be available for purchase. The festivities and sales kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 23 and carry on through the weekend.
The Herbivorous Butcher is the work of siblings Kale and Aubry Walch who have seemingly unlocked the secret to creating uncanny meat-like dishes that are entirely vegan. The shop is located at 507 1st Avenue NE in Minneapolis.
