Let's imagine for a second that you are a Minneapolis area chef. You've driven a wildly successful food truck into a permanent location. You've overcome the Great Recession with a jewel of a Middle Eastern restaurant that thrives ten years after opening. In between there was a cookbook, a Morimoto battle on Iron Chef and too many enthralling tales to tell at one time. Now, if this were you, what adventure would you choose next? Were you Sameh Wadi, you would turn to your business partner and brother Saed and suggest opening an ice cream shop. Sound crazy enough for you? How about we add to that, opening an ice cream shop in the middle of January in Minnesota? Making that call takes a couple of very large ice cream scoops.
Milkjam Creamery softly opened last week, right next to the brother's fast-casual World Street Kitchen and word spread like wildfire. The flavors offered are far from average. Oreo-steeped Oreo milk with Oreo chunks - you get the idea. There are also some obscene-looking brownies, adult sodas and more.
Today, we take a look inside the shop.
