It finally feels like winter-time in Minnesota. True Minnesotans enjoy venturing out in the bitter cold, skating, sledding and even drinking on the ice. At Marin Restaurant & Bar, located at Le Meridien Chambers hotel indowntown Minneapolis, the Ice Bar at Marin is ready for those who enjoy seeing their own breath and happily put up with some frost bite for the sake of a good drink. Sponsored by Absolut, the outdoors Ice Bar features seasonal cocktails- some served through a fun ice luge- and carved ice tables, along with a lovely fire pit and heated cabanas for those who want to retain some feeling in their extremities.
The Ice Bar is constructed by Twin Cities-based Minnesota Ice Sculptures, who are feeling pretty confident about the bar’s longevity now that the temperatures have plummeted.
The Ice Bar is open 5 p.m. to close, Thursday through Saturday.
