Perhaps never before have we been so ready to embrace a food trend. Better than cupcakes, poke, crudo and wackadoo doughnut flavors all rolled into one, we are getting some serious dumpling action here in the Twin Cities. Dumpling, the Northeast Minneapolis Farmers Market favorite, and beloved pop-up holder has finally released the location of its forthcoming restaurant.
Bunbob Chhun and James Munson are creating a contemporary Asian restaurant at 4004 Minnehaha Avenue Minneapolis, in the old Ming’s Palace location. It will offer dinner six days a week (closed on Tuesday) with a weekend brunch. In addition to dumplings (dumplings!) on the menu, there will be banh mi, ramen and some classic Chinese-American dishes.
Dumpling follows hot on the heels of Mrs. Dumpling, another restaurant (with no affiliation) that’s opening later this year. Bring to us your pillowy, flavor packed dishes; your broth and savory, tender bites.
Dumpling will open in Longfellow mid-November.
