While most of us are stumbling, groggy, out of bed to contend with the ways our hair has bent and twisted itself in the night, things are already bustling inside Bogart's Doughnuts in South Minneapolis. The coffee has been brewed. The doughnuts carefully, rolled, cut and fried before being glazed, frosted and sprinkled. Even when it was just a stand inside a farmer market, these little round bites of glory have drawn a cult of followers. Using only the highest quality ingredients, each delectable, breakfast bite is built with tender care. In fact, fried dough converts were so excited about this shop that when it first opened, lines snaked outside the door until the inventory was completely wiped out.
Now, we've settled down a bit and the doughnuts are easier to get to. No or little lines (unless it's a weekend) and there is even a second shop in the IDS Crystal Court in downtown Minneapolis.
