After a two year search for the perfect location, Pryes Brewing will open a new brewing and taproom facility on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis.
Pryers (pronounced “Prize” ) Brewing began brewing their only beer, Miraculum, an award winning, citrusy IPA in Lucid Brewing’s Minnetonka facility in 2014, while looking for a place to call their own. The process has been slow, on purpose. “We wanted to focus and do things right. To grow things slow and steady,” Ben Schuster, who co-founded the brewery along with head brewer Jeremy Pryes, recently told Growler Magazine. The new taproom will feature a few more recipes to start, with more added in due time.
The 13,000-square-foot facility will include a variety of rooms to fit different types of gatherings, community spaces and an expansive riverside patio, along with a full kitchen for pop-up restaurants. The easy access to the location from downtown and via the West River Parkway bike trail was a part of the attraction to the space. “We wanted to focus on the core of the city and be where the people are,” Schuster said. “We also wanted to be at the heart of the brewery scene in the Twin Cities.”
The team is hoping for a mid-2017 opening.
