It’s an idea whose time has come: an all day gathering spot that combines the carbo-loaded powers of both a neighborhood bakery and a corner bar. Augustine’s Bar & Bakery is the beauteous work of the same team that operates Cathedral Hill’s beloved beer-forward restaurant The Happy Gnome.
The room is an ideal all day hangout with space to grab a pastry and run first thing in the morning.
The fresh-baked selection runs the gamut from croissants and muffins to fresh-baked breads and cookies.
Everyday, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner with a brunch menu popping up on the weekends.
The restaurant seats 70 and is located on a corner that was most recently a laundromat. It’s on Selby Avenue in St. Paul, just a stone’s throw from the wildly popular original location of the Blue Door Pub.
The full bar, restaurant and bakery is named in honor of Saint Augustine of Hippo - which explains the hippo that stands stoutly proud as the official mascot.
Open seven days a week, Augustine’s lunch through dinner Monday through Friday and brunch through dinner on Saturday and Sunday.
