There’s a hefty thirst for fine spirits in the suburbs and Volstead House Whiskey Bar and Speakeasy has been quenching it inside Eagan for almost a year. Wandering into the bar, you’ll find it’s often busy and pouring some tasty cocktails. Thanks in part to that success, the owners have decided to expand to another location outside the cities proper: Farmington. The Bourbon Butcher will boast a massive whiskey selection, along with craft cocktails.
In addition to the spirit forward drinks, there will be plenty of food fit for pairing with a good glass of brown booze. Menu items will lean on the smoke and char with brisket, burgers, bacon-studded brussels sprouts and assuredly other things that don’t start with the letter “b.” Additionally, there will be smaller nibbles like duck-stuffed wontons, seared scallops and more.
They haven’t yet publicly announced who will be the executive mixologist of this new place, but we have it on good authority that this is a well-known bartender who has garnered a stellar reputation at some of the hottest downtown Minneapolis craft cocktail bars.
In addition to the average drinking and eating stuff, the Bourbon Butcher plans to host cocktail classes and will host live music 7 days a week.
Look for the Bourbon Butcher at 20700 Chippendale Avenue to open either late November or early December.
