The perpetually packed hot spot on the east side of downtown Minneapolis has parted ways with opening executive chef Remy Pettus effective immediately.
Eastside is the restaurant on Washington Avenue facing the Minneapolis Depot that opened at the end of September of 2015 to rave reviews and hungry crowds. It is the newest venture from restaurateur Ryan Burnet, who also owns Barrio, Burch and Bar La Grassa and Vice President of Operations, Bill Fairbanks.
At the time, Pettus had told Eater about his connections with the neighborhood and how excited he was to work with Burnet and the team behind Eastside.
The abrupt departure from the kitchen will be filled by Pettus' chef de cuisine Nick Dugan. Dugan had come to Minneapolis from Seattle where he was the chef de cuisine at RN74. The New York native has also spent time in the kitchens at The Penrose Room inThe Broadmoor Hotel, Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak inside The Four Seasons Hotel.
