Jack Links Opens the Jerky Storefront No One Asked For and More in the Food News Cribsheet

All the food news you need to know today, February 26.

City Works is edging ever closer to opening in the old GameWorks location in downtown Minneapolis and the team behind the restaurant has given us an exclusive first look at the menu. Burgers, wraps, wings and chops - this place will have them all. Check out the full food list here and all the cocktails here.

Speaking of the Mayo Clinic Square, another food company will soon be opening and the concept might be the strangest one yet. Jack Links - the company best known for beef jerky is adding offices and a retail space. The multisensory experience will include a flavor your own meat snack station and games. The Star Tribune has the full run-down, but the idea is too twisted for words. The company chose the location in hopes of creating a Times Square type buzzy experience. Draw your own conclusions.

Downtown St. Paul Key's Cafe fans are going to have to hold off on those breakfast cravings for a bit. The location has temporarily closed for a week to add a bar. The diner counter will be removed and swapped out for the bar, plus some of the tables will make way for booths. Look for a re-opening next week.

It's hard to believe that there was once a Taco Bell where the Hi-Lo Diner is now moving in on East Lake Street. The refurbished diner was brought in and is getting a final buff and shine before service. Stay tuned for all kinds of juicy details on the new space. Although, one tidbit we can share: the bar program is going to on point. Ryan Barott has left his longtime position at Hola Arepa to run the Hi-Lo bar.
