It's been seven years of scratch made sandwiches, comforting desserts, wine on the patio, and chili served only when it's actually chilly. However, Sunday February 28, the Cheeky Monkey Deli announced it was time to close up shop.

Chef Matt McArthur first opened the deli and restaurant on St. Paul's Selby Avenue with the once radical idea that everything from the bread to the Worcestershire sauce to the cured meats could be done from scratch and still sold at a reasonable price. In the ensuing years fans gathered for the better than Mom's meatloaf and a perfect egg sandwich that we were just raving about in our ode to the breakfast sandwich.
And now it's time to say goodbye. In a farewell Facebook post the restaurant left directions for redeeming unused gift cards and a final thank you to their customers.
We thank you, too for all the delicious memories. Let the speculation as to what will go into that location begin.
