Call it a trial by fire, the tabletop barbecues were lit inside Hoban Uptown a couple of weeks ago and fans have been flocking to Uptown's only grill-your-own Korean eatery. Now, it might be too early to review, but the first words are positive from Mecca Bos at City Pages, calling the "divine aroma of caramelized meats" heady.

In addition to the table top grills, wide selection of marinated and naked meats, bulgogi, twice fried chicken and those addictive pickled side dishes, Hoban also boasts a full bar.

Early Yelp! reviewers are bemoaning slow service and steep prices. (It's hard to imagine paying the listed $15.95 for sweet and sour chicken.) Meanwhile, Facebook critics are raving about the food. Rice bowls are around $16, starters are closer to $10 and the barbecue is in the $20 range.

Open daily from 4:30 p.m. to midnight.
