Ike's Food & Cocktails is adding another location to its roster of red-meat loving restaurants. In addition to the original downtown Minneapolis, Minnetonka and MSP airport locations, there will soon be a Bloomington outpost. The latest location will be located just behind Trader Joe's off 494 and France Avenue at 4400 W 78th St, Bloomington MN. Applications are currently being taken for all positions. Ike's is perhaps best known for its killer burgers and an outrageous bloody mary.
The Star Tribune reports that Hub City Cafe is opening this Friday in the former home of Cupcake in Prospect park. Looks like the food will be bussed in from Simpls with sandwiches and salads, soups from At Last! Gourmet Foods and gluten-free pastries from Sift. Coffee is coming from Up Coffee Roasters out of Northeast.
The smoker has gone dark a Lee & Dee's Bar-B-Que just off the corner of Selby and Victoria in St. Paul. The building has been leased to a new tenant, the windows have been papered over and the mural covered with fresh paint. We're still waiting on confirmation about what restaurant might be moving in, but there has been some speculation that Tori Ramen (so named in part to a hinted-at Victoria location) might be the most likely contender. The owners would not confirm or deny the assertion. Right now, that's just a rumor. There has been some talk that Lee & Dee's might relocate or find a way to re-open. Again, it's just a rumor, but there's still a sliver of hope, Barbecue Fans.
