Brewer’s Table

Brewer’s Table, the finer dining restaurant hovering above the beer hall at Surly, will celebrate its first anniversary with a festive dinner on Wednesday, May 18.  Members of Surly's team have selected their favorite Surly beer, and Chef Jorge Guzman and Chef Dustin Thompson will pair dishes around those brews. A social hour, complete with complimentary beer, just ahead of the dinner will include the opportunity to meet the Surly Brewery team. The six course dinner will include oysters paired with Dampfbier on Nitro, lamb tartare paired with Simpsons Scottish Ale and a FOUR beer float: salted caramel torte, cocoa nib, vanilla bean paired with FOUR.

Seats are extremely limited.

Art-A-Whirl at FOOD BUILDING

Art-A-Whirl is a popular open gallery event that will take over Northeast Minneapolis May 20-22, and one of the perennial signs that summer, and its many fests, is finally here. The FOOD BUILDING in Northeast Minneapolis will host more than a dozen local artists in celebration of the three day event. Enjoy live music and treats from The Lone Grazer Creamery and Red Table Meat Co. throughout the weekend. The Draft Horse’s patio is now open.

New Classics Winemakers BBQ

Corner Table will host this fiery event on Monday, May 23, featuring rotisserie and grilled dishes. Since wine goes great with...well...food, guests are also invited to share a glass with the winemakers themselves. Winemakers will include Scholium Project, Forlorn Hope, Dirty and Rowdy, Division, Gamine, Field Recordings and Idlewild. Tickets include all food and vino.

Somm Slam 2016

It’s time to slam some somms. Not really, but it sounds like fun doesn’t it? Eight sommeliers will duke it out for the Somm Slam crown on June 7 at Monello. The event begins with sparkling bubbles and passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by four courses, each paired with two wines. If you’re keeping count, that’s eight wines total. Guests will judge the pairings and crown the winning somm.

Tickets are $125 per person. Space is limited and reservations are required.
