After much anticipation, stomach rumbling and trading of legendary burger tales from outside the state, the day is finally neigh. Minnesota's very first Shake Shack will open for business at the Mall of America on Thursday June 9.
The first Minnesota restaurant will be a part of the Mall of America's don't-call-it-a-food-court "Culinary North," in the new expansion, on the third floor.
Since opening the national chain has spread to 60 locations and inspired a cult-like following. The quality fast-food concept was dreamed up by restaurateur Danny Meyer and CEO Randy Garutti over coffee on a scrap of paper. The beef will be sourced from Revier Cattle Co. out of Olivia, Minnesota.
Also on the menu will be two special just for us frozen concrete custards, the Malt of America with vanilla custard, peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, crumbled sugar cone cookie and malt powder and the Butter Coffee Blend with vanilla custard, butter-coffee caramel sauce and shortbread cookie. The Shake Shack Shack Attack will also be served with chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough and Mast Brothers Shake Shack dark chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles.
In addition to the shakes, burgers and fresh fries, there will be local beers on tap like Summit, Lift Bridge, Badger Hill, Grain Belt and Brau Brothers plus Brooklyn Brewery's ShackMeister Ale.
Get your Double Double order in beginning at 11 AM Thursday June 9.
