Norseman and puppies

Puppies and cocktails and cheesecake, oh my! Norseman Distillery is hosting a dog adoption event on July 12, along with dogsofinstagram, Lucy & Co and Mary Puppins. There will be adoptable dogs from Secondhand Hounds and MN Pitbull Rescue, as well as local photographers Roy Son and Colleen Eversman from 2nd Truth. Stanley's on Wheels and Muddy Paws cheesecakes will be on hand with treats for humans and their best friends and a silent auction will be held with proceeds going to the rescues. Don’t miss a photo exhibit by Katie Essick & Amber Rhodes on pitbulls and their humans.

Hopped Up Caribou Beer Fest

City heat getting you down? Take in the crisp, clean air of Northern Minnesota during Lutsen’s sixth annual beer fest July 8-9. Participating breweries include Bent Paddle, Sociable Cider Werks and Burning Brothers, among many others. Here’s your chance to meet the brewers, sample their wares and enjoy some music, food and nature’s beauty at Caribou Highlands on Lutsen Mountains overlooking Lake Superior.

Pizza Farm at Food Building

Let’s face it, driving to Wisconsin for a pizza picnic on a Tuesday can be a pain. The good folks at FOOD BUILDING will recreate that experience right here in town (minus the goats and expansive vistas).  On Thursday, July 7th, spread your blanket on the slice of urban grass and nosh on wood-fired pizza cooked in the ovens of Northern Fires Pizza with stone milled flour from Bakers' Field Flour & Bread, fresh mozzarella from The Lone Grazer Creamery, and salumi from Red Table Meat Co.. There will even be ice cream provided by Sweet Science Ice Cream and cold ones from Able Seedhouse & Brewery. Take-home pizza kits will be for sale at The Draft Horse.
