Ryan Burnet is quietly, consistently building a restaurant empire. The man who gave Minneapolis such beloved eateries as Bar La Grassa, Burch Steak and Pizza and is working on an unnamed fast-casual, healthy place shared the news of his next great adventure, Station Pizzeria, with Stephanie March of Mpls./St. Paul Magazine.

For the full-service restaurant plan, Burnet has brought in chef David Ellis, who has worked locally at Isaac Becker's 112 Eatery and Doug Flicker's Piccolo, but before that spent time in the kitchen of New York City's famed Eleven Madison Park. The wood-fired oven will turn out New York-style pizzas; nothing precious or drizzled with top shelf stuff: homey, big pizzas.

Located at 13008 Minnetonka Blvd in Minnetonka the one-time gas station was where the Bennis Feed & Fuel was located and last housed Tonka Pets. This is just the latest in a string of good food news for the western suburbs, including Burnet's fast, fresh concept taking shape in Wayzata.

Construction is expected to begin in October.
