It was a haven when looking to dine out with the friend so earth conscious, that regular food was almost out of the question. Ecopolitan believed in a world that was better; one where animals weren't harmed and vegetables were sowed without also killing the earth and fires were kept to a minimum. After an impressive fifteen years in operation, the eatery decided to close and the non-profit corporation that operated it will dissolve.
—A North Irish Pub is coming to West 7th Street near downtown St. Paul. The paper is up on the windows and construction appears to be underway at The Glensman. The bar is the dream of Dominic McMahon, who says via an Indiegogo campaign that the food will include mackerel and prawns sourced from Ireland plus North Irish whiskey Bushmills and the like.
—Radisson RED is coming to town. We're all familiar with the Radisson Blue out at Mall of America and in downtown, yes? Well, now another colored hotel is coming to town with another locally, focused restaurant inside of it. Located in the yes-it's-really-a-thing East Town neighborhood, the 609 3rd Street South hotel is expected to open later this fall and be connected to the skyway system. The restaurant inside will be called Oui Bar (get, it? Wee bar? Yes?) and serve local, sustainable, non-fussy fare.
