Tulsa Oklahoma’s Hodges Bend has announced it will open a new location in Minneapolis’ Prospect Park neighborhood serving cocktails, wine and coffee. Mpls./St. Paul Magazine reports that the new bar will be opening at the base of a new condo complex taking shape at 2700 University Avenue. High level coffee and cocktails will be on the menu with food being served, as well. Breakfast will be available until 4:00 p.m. and then the food will switch to burgers and pizza to complement the cocktails and wine. Guests can either stop in and grab coffee to go or sit down for table side service. Hodges Bend expects to open in January of 2018.
—A new Southern food stall will open inside Midtown Global Market. Mama D’s Kitchen is currently under construction inside Minneapolis’ first food hall at 920 East Lake Street. The menu will be packed with soul food, Southern-style comfort food like shrimp and grits, po’ boys, smothered pork chops, chicken and waffles and the like. Hopefully, the stand will be open before sweet potato pie season is over.
—St. Paul’s specialty food shop is expanding. The Golden Fig will expand at it’s current cozy shop filled with local, artisan food stuff on St. Paul’s Grand Avenue. Shop owner Laurie Crowell has leased two adjacent spaces to her shop and will likely close for a couple of days in January to complete the expansion into a 2,000 square foot space.
