Peek Inside Lyn/Lake’s Newest Restaurant The Hasty Tasty

There’s a new entry in late night Minneapolis dining

Katie Cannon / Eater Twin Cities

The Hasty Tasty, a new bar and restaurant on the corner of Lyndale Avenue and Lake Street, has opened today. Because they’re still ironing out details, the restaurant will close on Sunday and re-open again on Tuesday, December 5th. After that, normal hours at 701 Lake Street will be 4 p.m. and bar close Tuesday through Sunday.

The food is American and uses smokiness across the board, from wood cooked and smoked items like ribs. The flavor even finds its way into the bar with Bloody Marys with barbecue sauce. Chef Chris Gerster is taking full advantage of a smoker brought in from Texas that can smoke up to 1,000 pounds of whatever is tossed in there.

Many entrees can be ordered in half and full sizes with prices ranging from $6-$18 for the smaller portions and $11-$29 for full sized dishes.

The bar pours beer, wine and cocktails created by popular bartenders and consultants, Bittercube. There will also be a selection of boozy slushies on tap.
