The San Jose based chain Tasty Pot, specializing in individual hot bubbling bowls with customizable soups, has opened its first Minneapolis location at 423 14th Avenue Southeast near the University of Minnesota campus. The popular Taiwanese and Chinese style of table cooking usually involves family-style dining. At Tasty Pot each diner orders their own bowl of broth and choice of meats, tofu and veggies to cook in the bubbling cauldron of liquid. Prices range from $13 to $15 per bowl at dinner.
The Minneapolis location marks the seventh location and the first in Minnesota for the company.
In addition to the eponymous dish there are also several boba teas on the menu and ice cream sandwich cookies. The restaurant is running a soft opening special with happy hour Monday through Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. drinks are buy one get one free and one free milk tea per pot ordered.
Regular hours will find Tasty Pot opening for lunch and dinner.
