Chef Remy Pettus, who helped open Eastside, is opening his own restaurant on Hennepin Avenue in Northeast this summer. The location is the old Bobino’s/Rachel’s location with the sunny side patio. Pettus has tapped restaurant design gurus Shea (of Spoon and Stable, Bellecour, 4Bells and more) to put a fresh polish on the art deco building’s design. Also getting a refresh will be that patio, long a fantastic spot for people watching.
The food will be modern-American. So, expect a menu that changes with what’s available at the farmers market with ingredients everyone can pronounce.
Pettus is a Minneapolis born chef who trained at the Culinary Institute of American in New York and worked for Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen and Moto in Chicago before coming home to act as the opening chef for Eastside, Ryan Burnet’s restaurant in downtown Minneapolis.
While he’s mum on an exact opening date, Pettus did assure us that Bardo will open with plenty of patio time left.
