The jersey will still hang on the wall and the ownership won’t change, but starting today the restaurant located at 7651 France Ave South will no longer be known as Lou Nanne’s Steakhouse. The restaurant that was the partnership between Michael McDermott and Northstar’s hockey legend Lou Nanne will now be known as Tavern23 one year after first opening.
According to a press release, diners in the area were more interested in hanging out at the bar and on the expansive patio out back, than dressing up for a formal steak dinner in the dining room. The new menu covers a lot of ground with a “from the wok” promising orange chicken, Mongolian beef and Pad Thai; a sushi section; a pile of burger options; both pizzas and flatbreads, while retaining a couple of steak options.
Tavern23 is open beginning today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
