Trio, the vegan restaurant from a trio of people united through the Black Lives Matter movement, is now open and serving at Lyn/Lake. Serving vegan soul food, soups and other comfort items made completely without animal products, the restaurant will open daily at 5 pm for dinner for now, but plans to expand to lunch hours in the future. Owned by Sarah and Dan Woodcock with Louis Hunter are tackling the challenging location of 610 West Lake Street which has been home to Prairie Dogs, Gray House, Emperors of Indian and others. The interior has been given a bright makeover with white wallpapered walls and vibrant green chairs.
Brim is also now open at 1728 West Lake Street. The counter-service restaurant is owned by wife/husband team, Kate and Patrick Sidoti. The food is mainly vegetarian, with a few meat options available, should diners demand it. Dishes are mainly grain bowls with some gluten free baked goods and naturally sweetened desserts. Brim is open 10 am to 10 pm Tuesday through Sunday.
