Look Inside the Easy Italian Vibes of Grand Avenue’s Newest Restaurant

The former party spot is unrecognizable as the new Red Rabbit St. Paul

A little new and a lot familiar at a new Red Rabbit

Red Rabbit St. Paul is now open and serving lunch through dinner at 788 Grand Avenue. The restaurant replaces the Wild Onion, and the room is barely recognizable. Gone is the dance floor and chandeliers are now hung in the dining room. Many details echoing the original Minneapolis location, in the North Loop neighborhood, have been brought over to the new spot. There are the intricate tiles, the cozy booths and pretty much all of the menu.

Again leading the kitchen is chef Todd Macdonald serving pizzas, pastas, oysters and more at reasonable prices. Ian Lowther has also written the cocktail book with an impressive array of drinks, including classics, original drinks and some low and no proof cocktails.

Open at 11 am weekdays and 10 am for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and stays open all the way until 11 pm. Outside there is a patio space that will eventually hold toasty fires to cozy up to on colder days.
