PieCaken, the monster dessert with holiday pies tucked into a layer cake that broke the internet is available for purchase exclusively inside a new bakery at Rosedale’s food hall. Revolution Food Hall opens today in the old Border’s Books space inside Rosedale Center in Roseville. PieCaken is just one stall inside and the work of celebrity pastry chef Zac Young. Young has appeared on Top Chef: Just Desserts, Unique Sweets and Nailed it! and created the turkducken of sweet stuff along with it’s baby brother dessert: the piecupen.
Until today PieCaken Bakeshop’s sweets were only available online and for pick up in New York City. However, for the first brick-and-mortar store, Young made sure to bring a few of these dishes to town. The dish is a spiced poundcake stuffed with a pumpkin pie layer, a pecan pie layer, slathered with cinnamon buttercream, topped with apple pie filling and coated in an oat crumble. The PieCaken is $75.
In addition to that signature dish, the new PieCaken Bakeshop sells soft serve, cookies, and cakes including a unicorn cake that would make the day of anyone with a holiday birthday.
