Duck Donuts, a national chain is arriving in the Twin Cities with made-to-order doughnuts, scads of toppings/glazes/frostings will open at 7455 Currell Boulevard in early December. The business was founded in Duck, North Carolina, but the company is based in Pennsylvania now with upwards of 70 locations around the country.
An order begins with vanilla cake doughnut batter dropped into the hot grease and cooked until tanned and crusty. Popped out of the fryer they can then be bedazzled by an array of toppings including: chocolate, vanilla, blueberry, raspberry, and peanut butter glazes. Plus, there are unlimited toppings, drizzles, rainbow sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, Oreos, hot fudge, salted caramel and all kinds of sweet insanity. The menu also has a few signature doughnut flavors like maple bacon, cinnamon sugar, and s’mores and seasonal varieties.
