Maverick’s

Maverick’s, the Roseville strip mall restaurant known for sandwiches that make Arby’s weep with envy will re-open. The Pioneer Press reports that new owner Tim Hughes will work closely with former owner Bret Hazlet to ensure that the recipes are the same and the prices continue to be affordable with Maverick’s reopens April 9.

Hazlet is a restaurant veteran, he was recently in management for Hemisphere Restaurant Partners who own Mission American Kitchen in downtown Minneapolis and The Tavern Grills.

The only changes to Maverick’s will be a light remodel to the interior and maybe a few condiment additions.

Maverick’s Roast Beef was originally opened in 1999 by Bret and his brother Bart Hazlett, who died in a car accident in 2011. The two named their restaurant after James Garner’s cheeky card shark Maverick, in a late 50’s/early 60’s television show.

The sandwich shop has been closed since January of this year.
