Braving the freezing rain and an ominous forecast, Spring Cafe at the Como Park Pavilion is now open. The blessedly indoors restaurant is another collaboration from chef JD Fratzke and restaurant whisperer Matty O’Reilly. The duo also operate Red River Kitchen at City House, another city-owned building, the food truck of the same name and French bistro Bar Brigade.
There are two menus, one for grab and go and another for sit-down eating, plus there’s a full bar. There are sandwiches, tacos, rice bowls and hot dogs. Cocktails are all $7, including a Naughty Pine that’s made with bourbon and blueberry-juniper soda.
Spring Cafe is open daily 11 am to 9 pm.
