Tori 44, the second outpost from Tori Ramen owners Jason Dorweiler and Asiya Persaud, has opened inside the Victory neighborhood. The restaurant is much larger, inside the former home of Victory 44, than the tiny first spot that opened in St. Paul. The restaurant will be open with limited hours at first, for lunch and dinner. A Facebook post asks diners to take it easy on them at first.
When the first restaurant, Tori Ramen opened, broth would regularly sell out, as people clamored for the entirely pork-free broth. Some varieties leaning on duck, chicken or vegetarian ingredients for its flavor backbone.
Ramen isn’t all that’s being served at the new spot. Dishes include a riff on Lu Rou Fan, a Taiwainese dish with goat mushroom rice. Roasted carrots, Guyanese pepper pot, Sichuan tofu and more.
Tori 44 will be open for lunch from 11 pm to 2 pm and for dinner at 4pm.
