Acting a on a tip, a call to Bar Louie in Uptown confirmed that the party spot has shuttered as of Tuesday.

Bar Louie is a national chain and the Uptown spot at 1348 Lagoon has closed. Another location in Ridgedale* closed, as well. It was known for it’s large patio and party vibe. It had a two-star rating on Yelp, mostly for slow service and drink prices.

The chain first opened in 2012 as the first big-name tenant in the MoZaic building, behind the Lagoon theater. It was the scene of a shooting in the summer of 2017 after a fight inside the bar moved outside, leaving one man paralyzed.

In a statement, Bar Louie said the locations were not thriving, so the franchisee decided to close them. But left the door open for opening future locations. “As a company, we are sad about this turn of events with our franchisee and to be leaving these Minnesota communities. We are always seeking growth opportunities and look forward to the day when we can return to the area.”

Edit: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that this was the only Minnesota location. Also updated to include a statement from the company.
