The first major restaurant opening of 2019 is just around the corner with P.S. Steak opening on January 7. The gilded building at 510 Groveland has been without a restaurant since early 2018 when its last tenant shuttered. This time, the eatery has a chef that understands the location with Mike DeCamp taking the kitchen lead. DeCamp was the longtime chef de cuisine at La Belle Vie, the address’ most famous tenant. The chef along with the company he works for, Jester Concepts have gently remodeled the lounge and dining rooms and been steadily training throughout the holiday season.
An early look inside the rooms shows that the Lounge looks similar to the understated glamor of previous tenants, but the dining room (to the left when entering the room) has received a dramatic, dark makeover and has the addition of a second bar that will be overseen day to day by Jeff Rogers, a well-known bartender and expert who has been educating other bartenders for the past few years. He’s working with Jester’s beverage director, Jesse Held.
The team is rounded out by Wyatt Evans overseeing day to day kitchen operations, wildly talented pastry chef Jo Garrison creating gorgeous sweets and Matt Bolles as general manager.
The steakhouse menu will deliver on all the classics: Parker house rolls, chopped salad, chicken liver mousse and steaks with house steak sauce bottles on the tables.
Reservations are open now on Tock and the restaurant will serve dinner seven days a week.
