The confusion began the social media posts. Despite several reports of closure, employees let go, and the doors actually being locked during business hours, The Hasty Tasty was teasing followers with promise of happy hour. One post seemed like it could be an accident of a business scheduling social media ahead of time and forgetting to shut it down. Then again, another post touting two long time residents of the building went up. The post promised these two who be sharing flautas and tacos at The Hasty Tasty.
Meanwhile, phone calls went unanswered, the host stand line seemed to be disconnected. And then, lights came back on, and the restaurant filled with people.
The Hasty Tasty’s owner Michael Veazey is hoping to hold the restaurant afloat amid transition. “I am looking for a strategic partner to buy the business or sublet the space to continue the momentum of The Hasty Tasty.”
For now, The Hasty Tasty has the lights on and we will be watching to see what comes next for the restaurant on the corner of Lyndale and Lake Street in Minneapolis.
